FMM is a double winner at the York Region Character Community Awards!

On the evening of Wednesday April 25th, 2018, the community of Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy was twice-blessed as we were honoured by the Character Community Foundation of York Region with both the School of Character Award and the Educator of Character Award for Ms. Cynthia Anniballi, our Teacher/Librarian.

Chosen from among all the nominations in the YCDSB schools and short-listed to the final 2 nominees (we congratulate St. Robert’s Catholic High School in Thornhill for their place on the shortlist as well!), FMM was thrilled to be recognized for the outstanding work and contributions to our community, both locally and globally.

In addition, Ms. Anniballi was honoured for her work with our social outreach programs and her mentorship of our SAGA (Sexuality & Gender Alliance) group as we strive to continue our work to build a more inclusive and welcoming school community.

We were pleased to receive our awards from our YCDSB Director of Education, Mr. Ab Falconi, and our Vice Chair of the Board, Ms. Cathy Ferlisi.
