We here at Father Michael McGivney are immensely proud of our very own Vice Principal, Mr. Rod Simmons, on his recent appointment to be a full-time citizenship judge for the Greater Toronto Area. Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Ahmed Hussen made the announcement, in earlier this month. Mr. Simmons will bid farewell to the community at Father Michael McGivney on June 30th, and immediately step into a new chapter of his life as a judge.
The recent Press Release issued by the YCDSB Communications Department details the many accomplishments of Mr. Simmons in his close to 20 years here at FMM.
As mentioned by Director of Education, Ab Falconi, “While this is a certainly a loss for the Father Michael McGivney family and the York Catholic District School Board, we are also extremely proud of Mr. Simmons’ achievement. We know that he will continue to bring an extraordinary level of integrity, inclusivity and dedication to his work and an enduring commitment to serving his community well. We wish him great success in his new position as a citizenship judge.”
The entire FMM community wishes Mr. Simmons many blessings and success in this new path on his professional journey.
